 **Attention OBI Families**

Dear OBI Families,

We are reaching out to you with an opportunity for you to work alongside us as we grow our precious children. Many of you have reached out to us expressing your interest in volunteering at our school, we can’t thank you enough for your commitment to our students.  We want to officially invite anyone who is interested to go through the process of becoming a BISD volunteer and share with you some of the opportunities available here at OBI.

If you are interested in volunteering here at OBI, you will first need to complete the “Parent Volunteer Application”. This application can be found by going to our district website (bellvilleisd.org), clicking on the Parent/Student tab, select “parent resources” under the Parent/Student tab, then select Parent Volunteer Application and complete. Please also let us know of your interest by completing the bottom of this form and returning it to your child’s homeroom teacher.

Our greatest needs at this time are in Reading, Math, and Science. We have opportunities available that allow for you to assist students as they navigate through their Math assignments, increasing their “math fluency”, Science Assignments, working on reading fluency, and Reading Assignments. In addition, we welcome “Readers” and those who are willing to be read to.

We will have designated times/days available for each subject that you will be able to sign up for so that we are able to respect your time and schedule.

Please let us know of your interest by completing the bottom portion of this form. Thank you again for your commitment to our students and for all that you do.

12 / 01 5th Grade Learning Excursion

Dear OBI Parents/Guardians,

In the upcoming weeks our Music classes will begin learning how to play the recorder. For many of our students this will be their first experience with learning how to play an instrument and learning how to read music. It is often one of our student’s most favorite units in their Music class.

Our Music Teacher, Mrs. Topham has chosen a recorder for students to purchase that is not only of good quality but also economical. We are asking that you complete and return the bottom of this page with $7.00 cash or check included for the purchase of your child’s recorder. This recorder will be for your child ONLY and it will be theirs to keep even after this unit in their Music class. Please return form and payment by January 14th.

More details to come as to when you will get to see your child in action with their recorder. We know that they will do an amazing job as they work their way through this unit.

We thank you in advance for your help in allowing our students the opportunity to grow in their learning.

Bellville ISD has always tried to insure a quality education for all students.  Part of a quality education is providing a safe learning environment for students and staff in Bellville ISD.  After events in the last half of the 2017-2018 school year across the country, safety has been at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts and Bellville ISD continues to strive to make our campuses the safest in the State of Texas.  Student and staff safety is an on-going and continuous process.  Some of the efforts are highlighted here.

Bellville ISD promotes safety throughout the year.  We ask that all stakeholders, guardians, staff and community members speak with students about safety and the need to report concerns to the appropriate school personnel.
